As our monsoon rolls in and out, we also have other changes in the wind. Schools are starting back which means changes to our schedules and our routines that we've had for the past few months. Often, with change comes anxiousness about how will make these transitions. Be gentle with yourself and with those around you to allow for ease in these adjustments, breathe in the possibilities and exhale to release the tension.
When we are nervous, we often will have quick shallow breaths; by taking slow deep breaths, it will naturally calm down the parasympathetic nervous system which can ease the anxiety. Also it is know that when we smile, our endorphins kick up and your brain releases molecules that also help fight off stress. So take a walk after the beautiful rain, smile and breathe in the fresh air; by time you come home you will more relaxed.
